Saltwort, known also as “Friar's Beard”, has particularly long, thin, fleshy leaves. It is a salt-tolerant plant that typically grows in the coastal regions of the Mediterranean basin. Menù saltwort is 100% Italian, processed fresh and non acidic. Being vinegar free, saltwort is ideal served with fish, in particular salmon. It is also recommended as a condiment for first courses, risottos and omelettes. It is excellent as a side dish, either served directly from the tin or sautéed with garlic, oil and chilli pepper
