Pepper is a true universal spice and can be used almost anywhere e.g. in meat, fish and game dishes, in soups, sauces, marinades, to vegetables, in salads, to cheese, in stews and meat fillings and as a flavour counterpoint in sweets (strawberries, ice cream, etc). In addition to salt, pepper is a classic part of the cruet stand. Coloured pepper is also suitable for decorating or for pepper mills.
